Literally a glimpse of the Sun today with a standard PST revealed a bright impressive prominece that could be worth looking at over the weekend.

The future's looking bright (excuse the pun) for prominences and complex sunspots as solar activity is picking up with vigour.

I don't have the ability to view the sun due to lack of equipment, if I was able to look at the sun through a scope I would focus on sunspot 1160 which is just appearing on the sun's eastern limb, also 1158 is interesting, it is growing rapidly with a complex structure making it an interesting target both now and when it reaches the western limb.

Fingers crossed that this increase in solar activity continues and doesn't recede again.
