Is the pink blob on the left hand side the star forming region NGC604?

The answer is yes, it's Ngc 604. This enormous star forming region is the largest in the known universe-I kid you not. If it was placed where the Orion nebula is, it would extend, actually it would COVER the constellation of Orion and glow at a magnitude -7. This means it would be visible in broad daylight, and being 10 times brighter than Venus, maybe to the unaided eye. Great image, Mark.
