Is this point & shoot worth a shot?????

My lady wants a budget point & shoot camera. Found this on Morgan's and was surprised to see the shutter speed goes up to 15 sec. Would this be worth a try for deep sky afocal i.e M42 or would it not be worth the trouble? I already have a clamp on adapter from my early Planetary afocal days.
