Galaxy Counting : 1st attempt

I was intrigued to see how many galaxies I could spot, so I inverted the image, processed for background and fired up Cartes Du Ciel and started to identify them.

Boy there is a lot, I have only put about 50% of them on this image and only the ones I can clearly identify and not smudges / maybe or maybe not galaxies.

The actual galaxy is right underneath the bottom right corner of the last red letter identifying it.

Kinda fun doing this and will definately give this a go again.

That is quite impressive.

Makes one wonder how many objects I actually see, without realizing that I have seen anything more than "another faint star"
