Hello, I've been looking on this forum for a few days and decided to join !

I've had an interest in astronomy since being young, probably the Astronomy Ladybird book sparked the interest. Only been a casual observer, only really looking out if there was a lunar eclipse, meteorite shower or other such event.

My interest has been rekindled and I'm finding my old 7 x 50 binos are a bit lacking so I'm looking for my first telescope for me and my daughter.

Hi Tbird, you'll find lots of advice on this site, buying your first scope will not be easy. Suggest you take a while, do some research on this site, visit your nearest observers group and look thro as many different scopes as you can - obviously ask first!

Hi Pete, I found this site researching telescopes. Might have to stick with the binos for a while, budget took a big hit yesterday. Emergency visit to the vets with the dog ( he's ok ) but knocked £100 off the telescope fund. : (
