Stardust
OK here is my first deep sky post, it's my first Orion and the third picture I've taken. 21 x 3 mins and 10 darks unguided, Canon 300D modded through my ZS66. First time out with this camera. Fiddled with in PS, but not too sure what I'm doing. I'm very happy for a beginner and hope to improve so any hint'/tips welcome. I'm sure I can get it better. Stardust
Thanks MartinIf I take some shorter exposures for the core do I just add them into the stack or have I got to do layering in photoshop?
RikM
I would layer them in using photoshop. This is a very nice image for a first go at the Orion nebula, keep at it.Rik

msinclairinork
Hi Stardust,Great first go! as said, loads of detail!Colour looks a wee bit off to me? Many different ways to cure this, such as 'colour balance' 'curves' Hue/saturation etc etc. Just play about with it.If you like we could have a go at processing it a bit for you if that helps? You would just need to put up an unprocessed version Thanks for sharing,Michael
MikeD
Nice deep shot. looks like some blue has been lost along the way while processing, might be worth a look again at the data. Here's a link to layering two diffrent exposures in photoshop, should help with the core detail.Compositing 2 Different Exposures via Layer MasksMike.
