Dumb question solar - Ha filters and CaK diagonal

I have what might be a dumb question...:)

I have a Cak diagonal. I know I can use it without a front filtering on a scope with less than 100mm aperture. But can I also use it with a front filter? I know I'll lose some aperture (my filter is 50mm and my scope is 72), but my front filter fits so snugly that its quite hard to get off and I'd rather have the option of leaving it on when I'm under time pressure.

Thanks

Helen

Thanks for the quick reply Ken. Yes, its a Lunt 50mm Ha solar filter. Ah well, I'll just have to take it off.

How's Brussels?? I hope you're getting more sun than here - I've managed next to nothing since Christmas!
