JohnDenim
Observing Jupiter the other night, saw her moons and the cloud bands.I noticed an object just under, and to the left of Jupiter.I think it was Uranus, but not sure. Stellarium seemed to confirm this, but thought I'd ask the pro's.How would I expect to see Uranus through a 4" newt and 12.5mm EP?Very dodgy shot attached. jasonp
Looks like it too me. Is clearly not a star. Thats a pretty good shot all all honesty. I took this one Planets - Uranus Nov 2010 - Jason's Astrophotography about 2 months ago and its blurred due to movement.

sammy1404
neptune wont be the same size because it is further away. Not sure that it is actually visable? i highly doubt you will be able to locate it with ease through your scope.

To confirm it you could compare it with a star of the same magnitude, about mag 5.8, and you should see that the star looks smaller than the planet. 24 Pisces is about magnitude 5.9 and only 1.5 degrees SSW of Jupiter.
