phillips webcam help

hi folks , im getting my filter and adaptor for my phillips spc900 webcam this weekend and was wondering if anybody has any tips for me , exposures , gain , other settings etc , as im sure this would help me a lot , i mainly want to shoot planets,deepsky and star clusters

I used the info here: Webcam Astrophotography Tutorial for Planets to set up my ccd camera for the first time, it gives some good advice on how to adjust gain and fps to best effect.

I think your find the philips spc 900 is best suited for planets rather

than deepsky imaging. though I Belive it can be modified even further

for some deepsky work... Awsome cam for planets and moon

though...

Dion does a good video on Asromony shed UK on the spc 800/900, go on the site you have to register and go on tutorials, he covers moding the webcam using it and Registax.
