My first (rubbish) attempt at imaging Orion

Recommended Posts

The last one I took was 1.3 seconds exposure. Looking at them afterwards there are still trails, so I should have continued the series to find out where the star trails disappeared. Unfortunately, of course, the nebula is getting dimmer and dimmer as the exposure decreases, so to get the brightness back that tracking mount is a must have. (And that's why it's in a different position in the frame as well).

Both shots are 'small jpgs' straight from the camera that have been roughly halved in size.
