eq3 upgrade

hi!....

i have a eq3/2 mount with polarscope and dual motors fitted can it be successfully upgraded to goto, if so, synscan or syntrak? what is skytrak? can i buy an upgrade kit without motors? i understand this mount cannot be guided(no guide port).

any advice appreciated!

i have a sw st120/600 and canon 40d.

You can add a guide port yourself for a few quid. Here is how to do it.

You can upgrade the EQ3-2 with GOTO, but they use different motors (included with the upgrade kit) The Synscan system has a autoguider port.

If you only need an autoguider port, you can mod your dual axis hand controller. You can find the kit here:

Anything with buttons to control the motors can be converted to autoguiding...one day I'll add autoguiding to an EQ1...
