Another idea, possibly silly!

Mooching about earlier pondering where I can get a short focal length APO with a BIG aperture, I was scratching down some numbers. What came to me was the possibility of using a 2" long focal length EP with the webcam, so that the EP is used as the 'scope. Now as yet I haven't tried it so this is now open for ridicule until I get some time and some sky on which to test the idea. This was planned for the Ursids which are happening now above the clouds and fog outside so a big field of view was the plan.

Any good (or not so good) reasons why it shouldn't work?
