Sun, changes over five hours.

One thing I was curious about before starting Ha solar observing was the rate of change on sun. Here are two images separated by around five hours.

After that, a re-do of an image from the 17th Jan.

Great images. I think sometimes we spend so much time lookig at stars, we forget how amazingly dynamic and active our own star is.

most of the prom animations (definately a labour of love!!) are based on 1000 frames or so every 5 to ten minutes. A set of 20 images+ will give a very nice animation.

When you do get the x2.5 Powermate?

That will help pull out even more detail.

Thanks for that tip, Ken. I will certainly give that a go, maybe working in relays with the guests! Powermate to come. I also wondered about a 1.5 or so X Barlow. Do these exist? Must have a look.

Yes, You can find x1.5 Barlows but the quality seems very variable.

I've just "borrowed" a x1.8 TMB ED Barlow for trials (Thank's John!) It gets rave reviews.

Also the x2 Klee barlow works well for me, better than the Celestron... haven't tried the Cemax x2 yet (Anyone have one available???) The TV x2 Powermate is a 2" fitting...
