Photoshop question.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to place an image on a larger backgropund so that you can put other, smaller, images next to it. Eg have a whole disc image of the sun and then small close ups next to it, as on a magazine page?

Thanks in advance,

Olly

Hi Olly,

With the image open, click on Image and then Canvas Size. Once you've resized you can then drag other images on to it. Or you could create another file, click File then New... and drag your images on to that.

Hi Olly

The quickest way to get a bigger background is to use the crop tool. Make sure your image is smaller than the window it's in and drag the crop tool beyond the edge of the image, you can create new space wherever you need it ( the colour used will be whatever you have set as the background colour)

Indeed, this works spot on and is much quicker.
