My aim with my new 10" dob is to see DSOs, although I didn't quite realize how big it was, though it seems easy to take off the base, is there another scope that I could have gotten that was smaller and done the same thing?

you could have gone for the truss design if space is a factor

the size isn't really a factor, it was more curiosity prompting the question

Hi, i think a 250mm scope is an excellent choice for observing dso`s. The simple answer is no. A smaller scope would not show what your scope will show. Hopefully the views will speak for themselves.
