Report: 18th Dec 06

Not so much a report but just to say that AT LAST I managed to get the scope out for a couple of hours tonight!

In order, I looked at:

M38 in Auriga

M36 in Auriga

M37 in Auriga

M35 in Gemini

M1 - Crab Nebula in Taurus - Just a hint of a misty patch only (Lots of LP in my garden)

M34 in Perseus

M31 - Andromeda Galaxy

M42 in Orion

M45 - Pleiades in Taurus

I can't see Saturn from my garden unfortunately

All in all twas good!

Looking forward to the Ursids on Friday

Yup. The Auriga clusters are real gems - like em alot 8) Is the east blocked from your garden? Saturn is quite high up and later on should fall into your south view nicely. Hope you get a look soon.

Nice report, and good to see a few targets were acheived there. Auriga is very interesting. It in my top 10 project areas for 2007

Yea, unfortunately my view of Saturn is blocked by houses just now.

I could probably get a look at it over the fence with the 4.5" on the EQ mount but I had the dob out last night and couldnt really be bothered getting the EQ out lol

A few of us are planning to go to a dark site on Friday for the Ursids so I'll catch Saturn then.
