Yep, my mum bought me a 60mm frac around 20 years ago (back when I was young). She became fascinated with Jupiter and the moon. She has always wanted one since, so the whole family got together and come xmas day she will have an evo120 (which means more time for me at my parents telling her how to use it).

Saying that she will also be armed with a Planisphere and 'Turn Left At Orion'.

Merry Christmas all.

No fog up the hill here, plenty of cloud though. It was clear as it got dark and looked promising so I got set up, aligned and targeted. 10 subs later when i'm in the office, all nasty looking pictures. Went back out to see what was going on and the sky was clouded over. Not fair! There's even holes in the clouds to tempt me out again so I don't know what I'm going to do. By gum its cold out though.

Its gone all clear, apart from a few wispy clouds. Back to the DSO bagging!

The Newt. is snapping away while I watch what its doing from the office, which I find cool, rather than cold.

Currently trying for NGC2403 which is number 7 on the Sir PM Caldwell object list. I hope it works out as its described in SEDS (or wherever I looked it up) as something that Charles Messier should have listed because its big and bright (Mag. 8.9 ish).

If it stays clear I might have a bash at something else. With the current setup I haven't enough FOV for any of Rog's recent beauties so its probably galaxies and maybe a glob. or two.

I'm beggining to get the galaxy fever as Starry Night has loads listed and I can attempt several in one frame.
