where to buy a short tube refractor st-80 for a guidescope

Recommended Posts

I am having difficulty finding a uk supplier of a short tube refractor st-80 for a guidescope. a skywatcher or orion would be preferred. Does anyone know of a uk supplier that would sell one without a mount (OTA only).

Thanks for any help.

Scopes and Skies sell:

Antares Sentinel 80mm f6 semi-APO refractor - main tube only

£265.50

They also do a short tube version of it, +£10 if memory serves me right.

If you mean the Skywatcher ST-80 then:

SKYWATCHER STARTRAVEL-80T (Tube Assembly)

80mm (3.1") f/400 REFRACTOR

Specification and optics same as Startravel-80 but comes with 45° Erect Image Diagonal, and supplied without Equatorial Mount and Tripod. Complete with tube rings.

£85.00

@ Sherwoods.

Mine came from FLO, 85 pounds. The Barlow is useful because you can ditch the lens and use the tube as an extension to find focus with your camera.

Make sure everything including the screws that hold the back of the scope on are nice and tight.
