Astromaster AZ mount mod help!!!

Hi All

For Xmas my lucky son got himself a Celestron Astromaster 70AZ for his first scope. He is only 4 so getting to grips with finding stuff pointing the scope and tracking are going to be a learning experience for him. The problem I am finding trying to show him all this is the mount is a little stiff and jerky which as we all know it doesn't take much to have an object to wizz out of view.

Dose anyone know of any advice on the net for cleaning up the mount and making adjustments as my WD40 and light oil application hasn't mad a significant improvement. The trouble is I cannot see how to disassemble the mount to give the contact surfaces a rub down and re-grease.

Any help or advice would be welcome as I want to stick with the mount for him as I think this will be easier for him to use in the Long run.

Thanks

SPACEBOY
