Lunar Mosaic - help needed

Here's my first lunar mosaic - composed of about 8 different 1 minute stacked avi files. Unfortunately I filled up my hard drive before I could complete the picture, so this is ll that I've got.

Question is: The picture that makes the top section is brighter than the others - what could I use to darken it so that it matches the rest more accurately? I've tried MS paint and picassa, but can't darken it in either of those.

What did you use to join them up? Microsoft ICE works well and seems able to get rid of contrast/brightness changes between frames.

I just used microsoft paint - pasting them all into one picture and then joining them up by hand - sounds kinda primitive, I thought there old probably be a tool to help this.

I'll take a look at ICE.
