I'll go solo to a campsite in summer I guess.

Hi AB,

Have you done that before? I'd be a bit concerned about going to a camp site with a lot of expensive equipment if it's not a star party. Also have more lights/torches to contend with too.

Do you know of any decent campsites for astronomers outside of the usual star party campsites (has anyone been to a star party campsite outside of a star party)?

October and the location are more suitable for me, so fingers crossed I can make it for at least a couple of the nights. Never been to a star party and would love to make it to 2011 - hoping to have my shiney new scope by then too!
