i think that may be a bit of overkill,thats a lot of money just for the moon,why not get something half the price and buy a car with the difference!! lol

All boils down to how deep your pockets are. If you can afford to spend this type of money then thats one hell of a scope which with practise will give you stunning photo's of the moon.

But I agree that something this large needs an observatory to really benefit from it.

What sort of camera are you thinking off.

You might want to check out the current Picture of the Week joint winner. One of the best lunar shots you'll see, made with equipment a fraction of the price of the C14 Edge.

You can always upgrade if your 5" APO isn't cutting it for what you want to do.
