Solar Filter and Scope Problem

Hello,

Back in october I bought a Celestron C8 Advanced series and a Thousand Oak 8 inch solar filter. I've recently took it out and the filter does not fit properly on the scope. What seems to be happening is the screws that are used to afix the lens cap on, are sticking out and seem to get in the way. Am not sure what to do as I suspect the shop will not take the filter back as it was purchased back in October.

I think the best thing would be to buy a Baarder film and build a filter myself that will cater for these screws sticking out and put the other filter on ebay.

opps wrong scope...

The C8 Advanced that a newt isnt it... not that the C8-N so i guess its the SCT...

On my CPC800 SCT the lens cap is held on by pins which just push out...

Hi Billy,

sorry it is the Schmidt-Cassegrain one.

I'll double check if they are pins or screws, see if I can take them out.
