It's happened again, this time I was attempting to capture sunspot 930 in between the trees.

Haven't processed any of the avi's yet, and it's too big to post here so here's a little animated gif.

CC, I used Rad Video Tools Bink & Smacker (www.radgametools.com) to save the first ten frames as jpegs, then used Animation Shop 3 to create an animated gif with the 10 jpegs.

I know (the comedic possibilities are endless), this is a great general purpose imaging tool for breaking down or creating pretty much any kind of file format you want.

I was put onto it by Aussie imager Dave Pretorious, he uses it when imaging planets on an undriven platform.

e.g when imaging Jupiter -

use Bink & Smacker to break down avi into a sequence of individual gifs

feed gifs through ppmcentre (which frames Jupiter centrally) in each gif

use Bink & Smacker to reconstruct an avi from the centred gifs

use Registax to process centred avi
