Digi-Steve
Hi,I want to take pictures of the MilkyWay.I have a canon 50D, manfrotto tripod and shutter release. The settings I should use-ISO 800/1600?-f/4 or lower?-exposures of 20/30 sec.?If I wanna have a foreground...do I have to focus on the foreground? Or do I take a picture of the foreground and then do the exposures for the sky?Steve
FraserClarke
Best to go out and experiment I'd suggest, and see what works best for you.In general though, ISO as high as you can, aperture as fast as you can. With a wide angle lens (say 24mm), you should get ~30s exposure before you notice star trails.Focus point depends on what image you're trying to achieve -- but out of focus stars will be very noticable.
