Advice needed on settings for solar imaging , - especially Jupiter.

Whenever I get an image of Jupiter which is passable, I find I lose the moons.

Can anyone help please?

The best thing to do is to take 2 images at different exposure settings one for the main disk of the planet so you can get the detail of the bands etc (which often means you loose the moons) and then another image with a higher exposure setting for the moons. Then in photoshop paste them in to separate layers and align until you have both the moons and the planets disk showing to your satisfaction.

hope this helps chris.

I haven't tried our DMK on the planets yet but I use Neo's technique on solar images to catch surface and proms.
