Newbie here

Hi folks,

After too many years away from astronomy (about 45 years), I now have the time to start again. I am looking at getting a Celestron Nexstar 127 SLT as it's in my price bracket, has GOTO etc, is it any good?

Hi and welcome to SGL. The skywatcher skymak 127 goto is the same telescope but tends to be slightly cheaper - it has a different goto system though. I'm not sure how they compare, but both are well regarded.

Welcome to SGL.

I have the Skywatcher Skymax which is very similar. The optics in the Celestron are very similar quality and both systems are easy to use. As a first scope either are great scopes.
