lidl bresser

Lidl, from 7th Dec are selling a Bresser 90mm spotting type scope for £99.

Would this be suitable for astro. work?

The books Ive read suggest its best to avoid these.

As a dedicated Astro scope it would not be such a good idea. But as a travel scope, for low power sweeps of the sky and of course for daylight stuff, it would be excellent.

I had my eye on this myself. For taking on holiday next year. Should work well under those Cornish skies.

I shall be investing myself...Will fit nicely in the locker at work and the "Astro Van!"

Don't forget to pop in for tea on the way down...I do have a dark sky you know!!! And have been known to dabble in astronomy!
