A McEwan Posted December 11, 2010 Share Posted December 11, 2010 The Equinox is faster (f6.25) than the Celestron C80ED (f7.5), which would make a difference for imaging. Whippy Posted December 12, 2010 Share Posted December 12, 2010 I bought Ant's old ED80 from him and it's been pretty much used exclusively for imaging, I've used better quality scopes and there's not a huge amount of difference in performance. My only issue with it is that it's a little on the slow side for fainter objects so you have rack up a fair bit of data to compensate.
