Filament into prominence...

One of Sheri's recent images showed a filament metamorphosing into a prom, which I thought great. I got my chance this morining to catch this sight. Tricky to get it to look continuous across the limb.

ha ha yes Olly, probably.

once I have my big dob late next year, I'll think about it - we only have the summer in between so we'll get no sun anyway! I am definitely one to go for a specific solar scope though, the thought of caps and film flicking off while observing scare me a bit.

Fabulous capture Olly, great tuning of the Etalon to get the detail. You are not only an expert imager, you are a radio operator also ... how is your morse code ? ;-)
