Is this due to " seeing"?

Had a quick look at the moon last night and the image was pretty clear and sharp.

However there was a "shimmering " effect . If it was ground bases it would resemble heat haze if you know what I mean.

Is this probably a " seeing" problem or due to something else.

Appreciate your advice.

It goes away unless its the outlet from somebody's gas fire, then it doesn't. It's called seeing and has just recently been given a new scale based on Jordan sitting on a washing machine by Kain, and the older Imperial possed kettle scale, again by Kain.

It also happens if your 'scope hasn't cooled down properly, this kind goes away when the 'scope cools.

Then you're stuffed mate. The wobblyness is down to the warm air coming out of your window and messing up the views. It will only get better if you stop heating the room. You may find (heresy alert!) that looking through the window cures the wobbles to some extent. The window glass will mess up your views no end, but if it's the only way to do it, go for it.
