Nov 14 + 15 IR mosaics

Hello guys,

I snapped some shots just before the moon was going down on Sunday and Monday nights. Each one is a mosaic with roughly seven pictures. This was really a test for my new IR pass filter, to see what comes out. I'm quite impressed with the filter - seeing is definitely better but I think with this camera vertical resolution may be halved...

Big pics,

I kept in the original odd white balanced colours because I think it makes it look more interesting - we've all seen grey moons before! Bring on the IR :)

Thanks for looking

Simon

I used a Skywatcher 130P, RA drive, SPC 900 (flashed 880), Baader IR pass filter. Image processing done with iMerge for one image and MS ICE the other, after Registaxing all the smaller images. Processing in PS CS5.

The moon was very close to setting in one of the images and the panes were different quality and different brightness! ICE sorted that out well. I can't remember which was the image with the trouble!
