i'm sold. that was the last thing I wanted to know. If i get a right angle finderscope can I add a telrad alongside it...yes! very excited about this.

Spec-chum, i'd be really interested to see how you've done it and got them aligned. any chance you could upload a picture of the setup??

I use the smaller version of a Telrad (Rigel Quikfinder) and it has made my life a lot easier. Agree with all the above. I use both the Rigel and straight through 9x50. That is until I get a R.A.C.I Then I think it will be plain sailing. I would sing the praises of the Telrad but I found them so hard to find when I was looking.

As a newbie I'm almost sold on the idea of a Telrad. Spec-Chum, your mounting pics are great as we have the same scope so it's great to see one in position. I know this is a stupid question but does a Telrad need to be zeroed in (as with an ordinary finders cope)? If not, how do you know that what's dead centre in the Telrad will be dead centre through the scope EP?

Thanks.

It does, yeah. Dead easy tho there's three knobs on the back that move the projected circles around slightly. Just have a bright star in the middle of a highish power ep of the scope then look through the telrad and turn the knobs until the star is central. It moves in quite a predictable manner.

Took me about 30 seconds.
