Orion Taurus and M45 widefield

Fantastic sky last night but being in one of my regular very painful back weeks

I couldn't get any scopes out.

Still, hobbled slowly outside to setup my Nikon 5400 on the barn door tracker

to catch a widefield.

Set it going for a three minute exposure and enjoyed the sky whilst the camera

was doing it's thing.

About one minute in, a glorious meteor shot across the sky quite low to the south

a fantastic green colour 8)

Turned out that sadly it was just out of the FOV of the camera :D

Anyway, heres a cut down of the 3 minute image showing Orion, Taurus and M45 :D

Thanks guys :D

the constellation piccy is a fantastic idea! how did you do it

Probably by breaking some copywrite rules

I use Stellarium, a free star chart software gizmo and you can choose

to have those fanciful pictures over layed on the constellations.

So, dug into the software's folders and found the source of the images they use

and copied and pasted onto mine in Photoshop :D
