Pleiades M45 , 11/05/2010

Here is M45 Pleiades i took last Friday night . 6 exposures totalling 24-mins with 2x5-min DFs. , XSi , f/7.1 , ISO 1600 , Piggy Back my C8 SCT . Registered and stacked in DSS and PP in DPP & PS7 .

This is a really nice image of M45. I really like how you've captured such a wide field of view for this cluster, it frames it well.

Celeste, when you see M45 for the first time and you slew over to it, it's unmistakably "there". It's one of my favourite objects since I can see it through light pollution and, if there isn't so much light pollution around (i.e. at a star party/dark site) through binoculars it looks beautiful. It's black empty space and then there they are!

Easy to find too. No star hopping required
