have a light from the road shining into my garden - emailed road service saying it was a nuisance - effecting my sleep etc and they are going to fit some form of shield to help. promised to have work done by end of november - keep you posted

I am glad to say that since my move to France I have not needed my light screen. No street lights and all the neighbours close their shutters at night. It is so nice.

Road Service arrived a couple of days ago - changed the box on the offending lamp post - the back half now has a black out section - while not completely blocking out the light - i'm happy enough with the compromise. still can't believe the need for these lights on a small country back road.

I've noticed a few street lamps in another town that appear to have had their fuses removed... I smiled!

I have a similar set up on my decking, just to block a rather annoying street light. I rigged it up about Eight months back. What I really need now is some sort of removable pier so I can take it out for the summer months. Because the trouble with decking is it moves when I move, so I am hoping to make a hinged flap in the decking so that when the pier is in place it doe's not foul the decking. Any idea's will be welcome.
