Shadows on Plato

Dear all,

I've been lurking in the background for quite a while and finally summoned all my courage :-) So here's a moon picture on which I've worked on and off for some time.

I happened to have a clear night with unusually good seeing conditions. The picture was taken with an Alccd 5 (=QHY5) cam attached to an 8" Meade LX 10 Schmidt-Cassegrain, with a 2x Barlow lens. I tried to capture the bizarre shadows on Plato's floor. Unfortunately, some brighter spots in the picture became overexposed beyond repair, but at least the shadows are there...

Comments are appreciated, of course.

Clear skies, Wolfgang.F

That’s a great image the shadows and detail on plato’s floor are very nice

I find it difficult getting the exposure correct with lunar images with there being so much difference between the light and dark areas

Nice job

Welcome to SGL btw wolfgang.f
