While I didn't get a chance to check on my moon filter tonight. I did get to see a rather large halo around the moon. I've seen small halos before, but not one quite so big, the haze in the sky made it look like a giant eye.

The scariest halo I ever saw was around the glowing cloud created by a rocket fuel dump. it went almost from horizon to zenith and had something of the Armageddons about it!
