Glad you found your EP, hope everything is OK.

I have also lost things in the dark, usually no more than lens caps, but still a pain. Another favourite is the little, faint torch-thingy used to illuminate the polar finder, and to find anything else that has gone AWOL, without ruining dark adaptation. Really annoying when THAT thing is missing

I do not worry about theft as a rule, as I observe from a back garden with no access from the rear (except for people who like to swim in cold muddy water).

I noticed at Kelling that some people spread a large piece of white sheet plastic out (eg a groundsheet) and put their scopes and tripods on it. It occured to me that must make finding inadvertently dropped stuff, a lot easier. Glad you found it in any event
