Hello

I have just started a distance learning course with UCLAN intoroduction to astronomy... my head hurts

any tips to simplify things?

I did astronomy gcse this year and it was the maths that made my head hurt.

I found quite a helpful website with simple modules in it that were easy to follow. Its aimed at the gcse course but it might be useful. I can post a link when i get home this evening. :)

Hi David,

A very warm welcome to SGL, I know what you mean about the math, when I did my Amateur Radio course the lecturer said do not worry about the math and science, its only basic degree stuff, we all had headaches after that, enjoy the forum.

Yes - the easiest way is to ask questions. Many, many members have experience in learning Astronomy. Also if you're getting stuck as far as I'm concerned that means it hasn't been explained properly. Ask away :)
