how do I get 103P Hartley in Stellarium?

What I am about to say shouldnt be attempted without making backups of important files. I profess not to be computer whizz.

The .ini file should be opened in wordpad or similar. I think you can then save it as a .rft file and then change the extension to .ini - make sure you have a backup of the original .ini file.

Hmm Like everything I download Cartes du Ciel is in French, unless it's supposed to be. Frustrating.

Also I don't get where I am supposed to add that code for stellarium. In Stellarium?

edit: At least I got the language changed, I'm getting better at French:D

If you are using win7 you need to run notepad as an administrator:

- Click "Start"

- type notepad in searchbox.

- right click on Notepad and select "Run as administrator"

Open and edit the file:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stellarium\data\ssystem.ini

Add following entry at the end:

[103P-Hartley]

name = 103P-Hartley

parent = Sun

coord_func = comet_orbit

radius = 10

oblateness = 0.0

albedo = 1

lighting = true

halo = true

color = 1.0,1.0,1.0

tex_map = nomap.png

tex_halo = star16x16.png

orbit_Epoch = 2455470.5

orbit_SemiMajorAxis = 3.4726656

orbit_Eccentricity = 0.6951420

orbit_Inclination = 13.61768

orbit_AscendingNode = 219.76087

orbit_ArgOfPericenter = 181.19852

orbit_MeanAnomaly = 355.84874
