first attempt at star fields

clear skies here for now so I popped outside the back door with the DSLR .. just popped it on an orion min-eq bolted to a tripod.. rough aligned.. ie set a compass on the tripod pointing at the front leg, then aligned everything to north, then fine tuned the mounts alt and az adjustments so I had polaris in the center of the field of view.. now if I move the mount I only have to make sure its level and point it due north and its approx' aligned.

Just snapped off a couple of M45 and the surrounding sky..

1st pic 70-200 lens, manual focus and set at 70mm. F4 for 6/10ths

2nd pic 18-55 , manual focus and set the same as above.
