Guide scope or astrotrac

As can be seen in mig sig have a celestron c8 which i use for planetary stuff and my 80mm apo fro widefield. Have been doing some astrophotography with the webcam and modded 1000d

However I want to take the next step and look towards longer exposures.

So , considering mostly will be going for the DSO objects with the apo , which is better to consider an astrotrac or guidescope and synguider . Really dont know which to go for. The postability of the astrotrac appeals but then I suppose the synguider is more flexible in terms of use with the C8
