Interesting project that can be solved:-/ The size of the shutter aperture is set by the scope aperture AND its mount. A fork (with scope axes centred on dome radius) can be smaller than a GEM due to the latter's scope offset. Your dome diam seems small for this forum - mine for my 30cm SCT is DIY 1.5m diam -the lightweight sheet ali shutter is simply removed to observe and seals externally against a flexible plastic lining eg quality garden hose - see my links below :police:
