importing stuff from the states (Denkmeier bino)

Hi,

I am just reading forth and back about binoviewers and it struck me that the Denkmeier binos from the official German importer (astroshop.de) seem to be more expensive than a direct order from Denkmeier - or am I missing something

Astroshop.de Big Easy 700 Euro (plus at least 20 E shipping to the UK) and delivery in 3- 5 weeks

Denkmeier US Big Easy 550 $ plus 60 $ express shipping = 450 Euro

Adding 20 % (?) duties makes a total of 540 Euro, still 180 Euro or 25 % short of the importer price.

Is there something I miss or might it be worth ordering direct from the states?

Bringing in stuff from the US attracts Import Duty and VAT ( est >20%) whereas there are no additional costs from EU.

Denkmeiers come up for sale on Astro Buy & Sell, some a few days ago, that's how I got mine.
