eyepiece recommendation for 110mm f/7 apo

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got myself a 110mm f/7 triplet apo and was wondering which eyepieces people with a similar scope found useful under a light polluted sky.

With the small aperture the obvious targets will be mostly planets/ moon and double stars.

Not sure that I can draw on my experience with a 10" dobsonian.

I have at the moment a 24mm Panoptic and wait for a delivery with a 7mm and a 4mm Nirvana I picked up on ABS :) (and a 18mm and 9mm Baader ortho which are destined for my PST).

Oh, and the scope will be mounted on a Giro 3 "manual push to" mount.

Does it make sense to have an eyepiece around the "sweet spot" of 14mm?

Grateful for any advise.

Cheers,

Andre

I think so.

I've got four scopes now, and they all look nice with a 2mm exit pupil - even the ED doublet 80mm Spotting Scope - I like to run that one at 40x on its zoom (12mm?) to get ~2mm
