Would an EQ5 cope with a SW 8" F6 OTA?

I ask the above question because I have the chance to acquire one of the above mounts rather cheaply. The primary use would be to eq mount my Skyliner 200p and have a crack at some planetary imaging. I have caught the bug after using my new spc900 and getting some half decent results

"Yes" is the short answer but it might be near its upper limit for planetary imaging.

Make sure it's the type with the 1 3/4 inch steel tube tripod legs ! (or even a CG5 which has 2" steel legs) - the older EQ5's on the aluminum tripods would wobble too much I fear.

Like has been stated it will probably be near on it's weight limit (if properly balanced) on certain targets......But...... It should work...
