Nice area of the moon aint it? Looked real nice last night and that image has just brought it all back for me. Nice one MD.

Yes - it's a good area of the moon for both visuals and imaging. It's very 'lumpy' with a lot of jumbled craters.

It was cold, but not as cold as March this year when, by mistake, I left my eyepiece case out all night and it foze to the ground!

The EPs' were fine by the way. Astronomy gear, particularly if it's Russian, can usually stand the cold better than the user !

Thanks for the comments on the pic guys

The scope was the TAL 125R ( 5 ins achro). Not a well known scope.

The pic is let down quite a bit by my lack of image processing skils. The actual view through the scope is tack sharp.
