Using A Celestron 6.3 Focal Reducer With An 80mm APO

Recommended Posts

I'm sure I read, either on here or Cloudy Nights, that you could use a Celestron 6.3 focal reducer with a 80mm APO.

How do you connect the focal reducer to the APO?

I have tried taking the focuser off and trying to screw it to the end of the drawtube but the threads seem to be wrong.

I use the 2" Orion Prime focus adaptor which is actually made up of a 2" male to SCT male (Chrome) nosepiece and a second part (Black) which is SCT female to T thread.

The first part holds the reducer in a 2" focuser and the second part screws onto the back of the reducer to allow you to mount T thread spacers and cameras.

The distance between the reducer and the CCD chip should be close to 110mm
