Drawing of M42 and the Running Man

The past week it has been very, VERY rainy in the Netherlands. To kill time I made a drawing from a photograph of the M42 region using pastels on a black piece of cardboard. It was pretty fun to do and it might help improving my sketching techniques behind the eyepiece. My wife thinks it's a nice drawing and wants to put it in the living room. So: mission accomplished!

The original drawing is 20"x 16"

That's a great drawing, I can see why your wife wants to show it off...

I was gazing out of the window this morning and found myself gazing at Orion and was surprised to get a hint of M42.

I'm looking forward to seeing M42 and the HH again.

Fantastical sketchery there, I'd forgotten how tight Trapezium is, can't wait to see it again, now that I have a decent focuser and my 4mm UWA........

Now THAT would be a view! If that would be true I'd never be doing anything else than observing. Ever! My head would grow symbiotic onto my eyepiece!
